HALIFAX TROJANS AQUATIC CLUB NAME MASZKO HEAD COACH
June 23, 2010, Halifax, NS - The Halifax Trojans Aquatic Club (HTAC) are very pleased to announce the appointment of Aaron Maszko as Head Coach.
Coach Maszko has had a long and successful association with competitive swimming. As an age group swimmer, Maszko was a member of the Trent Swim Club and later joined the University of Western Ontario Mustangs, earning several awards, CIS and National medals along the way. He has been an Assistant Coach with HTAC since 2006, a 2008 CSCTA Domestic Excellence Award winner, and served as an Assistant Coach with the 2009 Nova Scotia Canada Games Swim Team.
"I am extremely excited to assume the Head Coach position with the Halifax Trojans", says Coach Maszko. "Over the past 4 years there has been an incredible shift in the level of performance of our athletes and members, and we believe that even more is possible. I am looking forward to the challenge of developing swimmers that compete for gold in
this region, across Canada, and beyond".
Coach Maszko is a National Coaching Certification Program level III Coach, and an Associate Member of the Coaches of Canada. He holds a B.Sc. (Physics and Applied Math) from the University of Western Ontario, a M.A.Sc. (Biomedical Engineering) from Dalhousie University, and is currently completing a B.Ed. at Mount Saint Vincent University.
Coach Maszko assumes his new role on August 23, 2010, taking over from Head Coach Lance Cansdale who has been named Domestic Operations Director with Swimming/Natation Canada.
