Title of position:
Ø Head Coach (swimming - contractual position).
Immediate Superior:
Ø Division Manager of Aquatics Activities.
Subordinates 19 employees:
Ø 19 Swim Coaches and 380 Swim Club Members.
Context of position opening:
Ø Vacant by departure.
Principal roles and responsibilities:
Ø Create a 5 year strategic plan for Club development;
Ø Build a b team that develops athletes to their full potential;
Ø Increase the number of athletes, maintain performance and results at an elite level;
Ø Oversee the program’s structure, planning and content;
Ø Demonstrate a dedication to achieving high objectives;
Ø Select and develop the Senior A Group into elite athletes;
Ø Mentor the team of coaches;
Ø Create personalized development plans;
Ø Maintain a solid responsible management;
Ø Collaborate and motivate volunteers and staff for events run at the Aquatic Centre;
Ø Work in cooperation with other program managers of the Aquatic Centre;
Qualifications & Abilities Profile
Education:
Ø College level or equivalent;
Ø National Lifeguard Certification or equivalent;
Ø N.C.C.P. (National Certification coaches Program) level 3 complete or equivalent.
Professional experience and competencies
Ø 5 years as a Head Coach or Assistant;
Ø 2 years producing finalists at the national level;
Ø Able to maintain a global vision for the development of the Club and being a motivator for team work;
Ø Capacity to mobilise and retain employees that perform beyond expectations;
Ø Demonstrate b leadership and solid communication skills and receptive;
Ø Able to adapt quickly to change;
Ø Capacity to fix high level objectives and to attain results;
Ø Demonstrate the ability to develop high performance programs;
Ø Functionally bilingual - English and French (an asset);
Hiring time line :
Ø Mid-August, beginning of September 2012.
Remuneration:
Ø Negotiable based on experience and results.
