Reporting to the Flames Swim Team Head Coach and working cooperatively within the department, the Para Swimming Development coach will be responsible for developing, training and coaching young Paralympic swimmers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to Ensuring participation of all swimmers; Monitoring swimmers during practices/competitions; Attending swim meets as required; Preparing all practice activities in advance and sharing plans with the Head Coach; Preparing annual and monthly plans; Working with and preparing swimmers for promotion to the next level.Qualifications
-Strong leadership skills;
-NLS qualified;
-Coaching qualifications at any level are an asset;
-Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in coaching competitive swimmers;
-Experience working with Team Manager and Meet Manager programs is an asset;
-Experience working with people with disabilities an asset, but not a requirement;
-Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
-A professional demeanor
-Self-directed, enthusiastic, motivated and pro-active approach to work;
-Working knowledge of Microsoft
-Flexibility, with the ability to work evening hours, as well as weekends for swim competitions (approx 1/month)
