The Glencoe Club is a private, family-oriented sports and social club located in the Elbow Park neighbourhood of Calgary, Alberta. Our facility boasts a full-service food & beverage department as well as 8 sport facilities. These facilities include curling, bowling, skating, squash, tennis, badminton, aquatics, and a fully equipped fitness centre. The Glencoe Club Aquatics Department is currently seeking a Head Swim Team Coach. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a challenging and fun Swim Team program for up to 70 member participants while maintaining the values and standards of the Glencoe Club’s Service Program in an environment that is safe, enjoyable, and positive.

EDUCATION, TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

- Level II Technical & Theory course of NCCP

- CPR & First Aid Certification

- The ability to work independently and in a team environment

- Excellent service and communication skills

- Passion for continuous learning

- Ability to work irregular hours

- Ability to work with children for extended periods of time

- Ability to stand on a pool deck for extended periods of time

- Knowledge using the Hy-Tek Team Manager program is an asset

The expectations of this position are to be actively coaching all levels of the Swim Team program with the assistance of part time coaches. Administrative duties include but are not limited to, setting training programs for all levels, overall program development and promotion, and submitting monthly billing of participant charges to the accounting department. The time commitment expectations are varied and include, early morning practices, after school practices, weekend practices, and travel to competitions to coach. An average of 40+ hours per week are expected during the swim season of September to the end of June with extra time off taken during the summer months.
