EXPERIENCED SWIM COACH
TO ESTABLISH A NEW SWIM CLUB IN POWELL RIVER, BC

The City of Powell River has a population of approximately 13,000 with an additional 9,000 residents in the surrounding Regional District of Powell River.
The Powell River Aquatic Centre located in the City’s Recreation Complex includes a 6 lane 25 metre pool, leisure pool, hot tub, sauna facility and large viewing gallery.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to a Swim Club Board, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
·Develop a new successful winter swim club for competitive age group swimmers, masters program, “Special Olympics” and Tri-Fit program.
·Supervise and train assistant coaches
·Recruitment of new swimmers and club development
·Perform administrative duties as required to develop club wide training and implement schedules, conduct practices, organize training camps and swim meets
·Attend all competitions that the club has swimmers attending
·Communicate regularly with parents on swimmers progress
·Communicate regularly with President & or Vice President
·Communicate regularly with local media (newspaper & radio)
QUALIFICATIONS:
·Experience as an Assistant Head Coach preferred, coaching level, 201 preferred
·Expert knowledge in all aspects of competitive swimming
·Complete satisfactory criminal record check
·Competencies: Expertise, Leadership, Teamwork and Cooperation, Results
