Head Swim Team Coach

As a growing and family-oriented team located in Cochrane, Alberta, approximately 20 minutes west of Calgary, the Cochrane Comets Swim Club has an immediate opening for a Head Swim Team Coach.

We are currently seeking a successful candidate who will be responsible for providing a challenging and positive environment for our swimmers. Our club consists of 40 diverse and committed athletes currently ranging from developmental level to swimmers achieving national time standards.

We are a not-for-profit society that operates under a board of directors made up of parent volunteers.

The key expectations of this position are to be actively coaching and mentoring all levels of the Swim Team Program. This includes regular communication with swimmers, coaching staff, parents and board members. Administrative duties include, but are not limited to, setting training programs for all levels, overall program development and reporting on a scheduled basis to the board of directors.

The ideal candidate for this position will have previous experience as a head coach, with a passion to motivate and inspire athletes and support them in their own personal development goals, as well as lead and oversee the entire club.

Education, Training and Experience

? Competitive Development (trained) or Level ll Technical & Theory course of NCCP (old model equivalency).

? Current Standard First Aid Certification.

? Knowledge using the Hy-Tek Team Manager program is an asset.

? Head Coaching experience including recruiting, training, supervising and evaluating.

Skills and Abilities

? Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

? Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

? Passion for continuous learning.

? Ability to travel to and attend swim meets.

? Ability to work irregular hours.

? Demonstrated ability to provide a consistent, fair and positive team environment.
