
Each swimmer will participate in one of our swim groups, based on their ambitions and ability.
Ø
The
mission of the Senior Gold
Group is to provide the opportunity for swimming athletes to develop to a
National Qualifiers and beyond. These standards require a strong commitment
towards competitive swimming with 9 swim sessions a week as well as additional
land training.
Ø
The
mission of the Senior Silver
Group is to provide the opportunity for swimming athletes to strive to
achieve Provincial meet time standards with the eventual goal of moving into the
Senior Gold Group. This is based on an individual commitment of 8
practices per week with additional land training.
Ø
The
mission of the Senior Bronze Group
is to provide transition for swimmers who didn’t achieve Senior
Gold or Senior Silver Groups minimum requirements yet. This Group has 6 practices and focuses on improving endurance
and technical skills in order to move up.
Ø
The
mission of the Intermediate Gold
Group is to provide opportunity for swimming athletes to develop their
competitive skills up to Senior of Senior Development Group. This is based on a
commitment of 6 practices a week.

The
mission of the Intermediate Silver
Group is to provide the opportunity for swimming athletes to develop from 11
& under “B” or12-13 “D”
times (as a minimum requirement to be in the group, based on the age of the
swimmer) to the standards required for the Gold Group (12-13 “A” / 11 and
Under Provincials). If the standards are not achieved at the age of 13, swimmers
will be suggested to move to Senior Silver or Senior Bronze. Program is based on
5 practices a week.

The
mission of the Intermediate Bronze
Group is to improve swimmers’ competitive skills and meet a minimum
requirement of Silver Group in order to move up. To be in Bronze Group swimmers
required to meet “E” Standard for age groups 12-13 / 11 & under. The
program offers 5 practices a week.

The
mission of the Junior Gold
Group is to prepare swimmers for the next level of competitive program. Simply,
it teaches swimmers to swim faster and more efficiently. The requirement is to
swim minimum of three competitive strokes. This group is offered to the
beginning swimmers who are 11 & under of age; 3 practices per week are
offered.

The
Junior Silver Group focuses on refining motor co-ordination and introduces
the idea of swimming correct strokes. Swimmers will be taught all four
competitive strokes with expectation to move up to Gold Stream.

The
Fundamental Group is providing two
main teaching components:
1.
Water Orientation- involves learning to be comfortable in the water and
learning to move in it.
2.
Skills Development- focuses on the basic movements and orientation
ability needed for swimming strokes
A minimum requirement to be in this Group is to swim 25m of any stroke.
