2006 Commonwealth Lifesaving Championships |
Don Burton, coach of our National Lifesaving Team, and head coach of the Marlins, headed to Bath, England for the 2006 Commonwealth Lifesaving Championships.
Congratulations to Jen Ellison, a member of National Lifesaving Team for the past few years. Jen won won bronze in 100 Meter manikin tow with fins and another bronze in the 4 X 50 obstacle relay. Jen is a member of the University of Guelph varsity team and a coach for the Guelph Marlins Swim School Program.
Canada placed 3rd overall, just missing 2nd place by a few points. Australia was 1st and South Africa 2nd. Men were 2nd in total points, women 3rd.
Canada won silver in SERC (a 2 min simulated emergency); Canada's development team placed 3rd in SERC and 2nd overall for the development teams.
