Where are they now? Know what one of our LAC Alumni is up to now? Send a picture and short history to any member of the LAC executive or coaching team to have them added to our LAC Alumni section. Brad Sales – LAC Career Overview Brad joined the London Aquatic Club in the fall of 2000 after representing Canada at the 2000 Paralympic Games in Sydney, Australia, his first international team. In 2002 Brad won a bronze medal as part of Canada’s 4x100 Medley Relay at the IPC World Championships in Mar del Plata, Argentina. In 2004 Brad competed at his 2nd Paralympics, in Athens, placing 5th in the 100m backstroke. In 2006, at his 2nd World Championships, in Durban, South Africa, placed 8th in the 100m backstroke. Last summer, at the Para-Pan-Am Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Brad collected a silver medal in the 400m freestyle and bronze in the 100m backstroke. Brad is the current short course world record-holder in the S9 1500freestyle and 200m backstroke, and is the Canadian record-holder in 6 events. The London Aquatic Club extends to Brad its very best wishes as he embarks on the next chapter of his life. His positive outlook toward swimming was a valuable asset to the club and its swimmers. LAC alumnus Melanie McCann, during the equestrian part of her Modern Pentathlon Nationals last summer. Melanie is in first year at the University of Calgary, and is still training hard in hopes of making the Olympic Team in modern pentathlon. |
