This is a new initiative to NYAC. Previously, and they are still available, NYAC has sold Loblaws gift cards. 3% from the sale of the gift card goes towards the family's fundraising account. For example, if you were to purchase $100.00 of Loblaws gift cards, $3.00 would be credited towards the account. The Shop and Support program works in a similar fashion, except they have many companies from which cards may be purchased. Although it seems like a small percentage, the little bits do add up. The amount of a family's fundraising account is dependent on the group the child swims in, but it does not take too long to get up to $250.00 when purchasing groceries, gas or pharmaceuticals. Once all the percentage deductions reach the fundraising amount, then the rest of the percentage deductions are split 50/50 between the family and NYAC. Over the years there have been many families taking advantage of this possible deduction to the NYAC fees.

For the Shop and Support program, the NYAC group number is 100555617. Many times the number will be populated in the appropriate field if on-line, but it is always a good idea to verify it just in case.

To purchase shopping cards on-line, you must first register. Click on the following link and follow the instructions. You should receive an email confirmation with an activation link when you have completed the registration. You will have to click on the received link to activate your account.

If you intend to use on-line banking for payment - which is the fastest way - Preferred One can be set up as the Payee. You will need your customer/member number which you will receive through registration. Some banks do not have Preferred One set up as a payee so you can pay by having the amount transferred out of your account. It is fairly straight forward when you are in the Ordering Cart how this can be done.

Each time an order is placed, it asks for an address. You can get the product cards delivered to your home, but that costs $5.00. If you elect to have them shipped to my address, then there is no cost. Once I receive the cards, I will distribute them immediately.
