Highlights of the
2006 Summer Season

Pan Pac Trials
Jul 25 - 28, 2006
Montréal

Julia Wilkinson
Julia Wilkinson was NYAC's star at the Pan Pac Trials in Montreal. She is the national champion for the 200 IM with a time of 2:16:75 at the Pan Pac Trials in Montreal. This achievement qualified her, for the first time in her career, to be selected for the Senior National Canadian team.
She also earned swims for the team for 200 Free (silver, 2:01:45), 100 Free (bronze, 56:41) and both the 4x100 Free and 4x200 Free relays!

The Pan Pac swimming championships are held on Aug 17-20 2006 in Victoria, BC.

Andy Townsend (16) was our top performer winning gold in the 100 Free (54:47) bronze in both the 200 Free (1:58:34) and 400 Free (4:15:67). Michelle Williams (15) was also a gold medal winner in the 50 Fly with a blistering time of 29:24. She was also a Top 8 finalist in the 50 Free, 100 Free and 100 Fly events. Kyle Resnick won a silver medal in very close 200 Fly for the 14 year old boys, with a personal best time of 2:14.69. Kyle was also a Top 8 finalist in the 800 Free and 100 Fly. The weekend drew over 1,400 swimmers from across Canada and is considered the premiere national summer event for age group swimming.

Junior Provincial Long Course Championships
July 6 - 9, 2006
Nepean

Bronwyn Colford was one of NYAC's standout performers at this summer's Junior Provincial championships in Nepean. She was a Gold medal winner in the 100 Fly for 11 year old girls. Her winning time was 1:14:95 and was her best time by almost three seconds. The 200 Fly was a close race in which she finished second with a time of 2:48:82. She was also in the Top 8 in both the 200 IM and 400 Free. Victor Crivianu-Gaita's standout performances were scored in the 50 Free for first place (27:19) and second place in the 100 Free with a time of 58:84. Victor also placed in the Top 8 in both backstroke events for 13 year old boys.
