Junior Provincial Highlights Meet Report
Junior Provincial Short Course Championship

Murry Drudge
NYAC Head Coach
This meet marks the end of the short course season for swimmers at this level or higher. NYAC has always used the short course provincials to gauge our strength as a team for 17-under development swimming. We placed sixth overall in a highly competitive province that had 75 clubs compete and 42 clubs scoring.
Last year we placed ninth with girls scoring 126 points and boys scoring 208 for a total of 334. This year the girls scored 100 points and the boys 329 for a total of 429. Twenty-four swimmers qualified last year (twelve girls, twelve boys) and sixteen made the honour roll scoring points. This year thirty-one swimmers qualified (fifteen girls, sixteen boys) and twenty scored points.

Traditionally, within a four-year cycle we have improved performance each year. Next year marks the end of this cycle and promises to be very exciting. Well done to Gina in the Provincial One group, John in Provincial Two with two brand new qualifiers, and to Diego for our Youth group. This is a great team of coaches and I was very pleased with our performance this year - well done athletes! To our parents in the stands who added a great deal of cheering and support a big note of praise for your efforts!
