Murry Drudge
NYAC Head Coach |
NYAC
attended the Eastern Canadian Championships at the Claude Robillard
pool in Montreal with nine athletes. This national level competition
brings together the best athletes from Ontario, Quebec, the Maritimes
and Newfoundland. Hard work paid off and many NYAC swimmers achieved
personal best times. |

Top performances
by Michelle Williams placed her in the A final for the 50m
(26.52) and 100m (57.33) freestyle events. Each swim was a lifetime
best and ranks her as one of the top sprint prospects in the country.

Andy
Townsend swam his first national time in the 50m fly (25.70) placing
in the C final. His 100m fly (57.15) was a big swim as well, and just
off the national standard. |

Fifteen-year-old
Kyle Resnick had an outstanding meet scoring in the B final
for the 200m butterfly. Kyle dropped his time by over four seconds
to 2:06:89. This time ranks third in the country for boys in his age
group and was just off the senior national time standard. Kyle swam
six events and achieved lifetime best times in each very well
done! |

Nick
Karpov had a great meet, especially in the 400m free lowering
his time to 4:03:38 and placing in the top sixteen. |
|
| |
Neta
Yokev was also very strong in the 200m butterfly where he was
racing two other NYAC swimmers, Kyle Resnick and Marius Hattingh in
the B final. His time of 2:07:03 was a personal best by over 3 seconds
and also just off the senior national time standard. |
