President's Message
December 11, 2006

Chud
NYAC President
|
| |
To
All NYAC Members,
We did it! Another
Youth Cup and Mega City Invitational has taken place and NYAC members
should be proud of the fantastic meet it was.
|
| |
|
| |
There were approximately
1500 swimmers in the pool and about 150 officials on deck and in
the kitchen throughout the day. Multiply that by 4 days and you
can see how important the meet is for the club and our swimmers.
Congratulations to everyone who helped make the meet a success and
a special note of thanks to those of you who worked sessions above
and beyond your commitments. Many of you answered the meet committee's
pleas for help in filling the session voids and, on behalf of the
club, I thank you.

To
the NYAC members who were integral to the planning and operations
of the YC/MC including the meet committee (Yvonne, Jean, Hilary),
fundraisers (Cheryl and Margaret), cafeteria and kitchen organizers
(Beatrix and Teresa), electronic input (Steve) and OSCARs developer
(Lui) thanks for all the extra hours and effort you all put in before
and during the meet. There are several other people who need to be
thanked not the least of whom are Olga (everything), Eric Moran (electronic
expert), meet manager Peter Cooling and meet referee Horst Tietze
and all the other senior officials from Swim Ontario Central Region
and the several parents from other swim clubs who helped fill the
officials gaps. |
| |
 |
 |
| |
A
final word about the meet
congratulations to all the NYAC swimmers
and coaches! NYAC looked great in the stands with the new NYAC towels
from our sponsor Pepsi-QTG, even better in the pool and great on the
podium. |
| |
|
 |
| |
To
finish off 2006, all groups will get together this Saturday morning
(16th) at Douglas Snow for the NYAC Red, Black and White Meet. For
those of you who are new to NYAC, I would like to remind you that
this is not a swim competition against other clubs. The morning is
a celebration for our club including a technical clinic for all the
swimmers followed by fun mixed relays and concluding with a breakfast
hosted by the Youth Group.
Finally, Christmas
training camp will run over the holidays. The schedule for each
group, which takes us into the new year, is posted
on the website.
Have a safe
and fun holiday and Happy New Year!
Marjie Chud
