Club Fees and Fund-raising The hard work and dedication of our parent group through fund-raising activities support our club. It costs approximately $1000.00 per year to take a swimmer through the program, including pool time, coaching and social events. This does not include swim meet fees or transportation. The first two fund-raisers described below make up the majority of our working revenue for the year. We ask parents to commit to these activities at the registration of their child. Other fund-raisers are described as well.
CLUB FEES
Registration fees are established by the parent executive prior to the beginning of each season.
BINGO
| Full-season registration requires that a pre-determined number of bingos be worked some time in the upcoming bingo year, which runs from October 1, 2005-September 30, 2006. One of these bingos must be worked in the month of September. Swimmers may work Bingo providing they are over 13 years of age. If you cannot attend a scheduled Bingo, you are required to find a replacement Bingo worker. The Bingo chairperson must be notified of all changes. If the club does not provide the appropriate number of workers for their Bingo, we will lose our Bingo events and therefore an important source of revenue. Bingo requirements are subject to change from season to season, so please read your club minutes! |
STAMPEDE FOOD BOOTH

Our club is fortunate to be allowed to operate the infield food booth for the Ponoka Stampede. The six or seven days of operation over the July long weekend can yield 25 - 30% of our total fund-raising revenue for the year. Each spring, the food booth committee organizes a schedule so that each swimmer is represented. NOTE: You must sign up for your food booth shifts prior to June 15th or risk forfeiting your deposit cheque! |
SWIM-A-THON
| Swim-a-thon is an annual event in which all swimmers registered with Swim Alberta are required to participate.Swimmers will receive a pledge package and may collect donations. They are challenged to swim 200 lengths or 2 hours, whichever comes first. The focus of this event is to have fun and show your sponsors what you can really do. Proceeds are earmarked for training camp travel. | ![]() |

Did you know that the Swim Meets that we host in our own pool are not only for fun, but are also an important fund-raiser? We truly need your help and support for these meets. You will be called upon to help officiate at these meets. Please reserve our hometown swim meet weekend dates for the Club. |
