PROGRAMS

It is the philosopy of Coaching staff and Parents of the Quinte Dolphins that through swimming our children will have the opportunity to have fun, while developing physical, emotional and social skills. As they learn the value of competition and teamwork, they will become athletes, all the while building self-esteem in an environment that stresses commitment and consistency.

It is the goal of the Quinte Dolphins to provide each swimmer with a program that supports their growth and development, in an atmosphere that remains fun and emphasizes participation. The Dolphins recognize the value of each individual, and that not all swimmers will attain, nor seek to attain the same level of proficiency. To that end we have tried to develop programs that provide an opportunity for each swimmer to achieve their own level of excellence.

Below is our latest practice schedule. For more information about each program, or level, click on the link at the top of the table.

Mini Dolphins (Pre Competitive)

This program is intended to enhance current swimming skills by promoting stroke development and is run in three 12 week skill based sessions. Young swimmers will be challenged at different skill levels with reports on progress issued after 6 weeks and again at the end of the session. The goal of the session will be to develop the swimmers' abilities so that a full length of the pool can be swum using the proper technique for the front crawl. Subsequent sessions will introduce starts and turns and further enhance the child's stamina. While the 12 week sessions can be joined separately, swimmers are encouraged to enroll for the full 36 week program.

Dolphin Skills (Pre Competitive)

The final stage of our pre-competitive programs, the Skills program is also run in three 12 week sessions.
