The CSCA Board of Directors has appointed Jy Lawrence to the role of Appointed Director. As per the CSCA Bylaws, Jy will serve on the CSCA Board of Directors in this role until the next Annual General Meeting.
A former National level swimmer and U-Sport Medallist at the University of Calgary, Lawrence started coaching while in University and has worked with all levels of athletes at a club level from pre competitive to Trials finalists. She is a certified level 3 chartered professional coach and is currently enrolled in the Advanced Coaching Diploma program at UBC.
Lawrence has previously served on the Board of Directors with the BC Swim Coaches Association in the roles of LMR representative and Treasurer. She has also represented Canada as a Coach at the 2021 Para CanAm’s and the 2022 Junior Pan Pacific Championships.
In 2022 Lawrence was named the Swim BC Female Coach of the Year and was also recognized as the 2016 and 2017 Swim BC Development Staff of the Year.
Jy has been coaching with the Pacific Sea Wolves since 2011 and is currently the Head Coach.
