Swim 4 Success (S4S) Coordinator
Windsor Aquatic Club is seeking an energetic, organized and supportive leader to coordinate our Pre-S4S and Swim 4 Success programs. S4S is WAC’s pre-competitive pathway, helping young swimmers develop strong fundamentals, confidence, coachability and readiness for competitive swimming.
This is more than a coaching role. The Coordinator’s primary responsibility is organizing, scheduling and mentoring a team made up primarily of high school and university-aged coaches. The successful candidate will ensure a consistent, safe and positive experience across every S4S practice group.
Key responsibilities include:
• Organizing staff schedules and ensuring reliable coverage for all Pre-S4S and S4S practices
• Being present on deck for every hour that Pre-S4S and S4S programming is offered
• Mentoring, supporting and providing feedback to young coaches
• Leading coach orientation, communication and ongoing staff development
• Coordinating Assessment & Placement Week
• Overseeing swimmer placement, progress reports and end-of-session recommendations
• Communicating professionally with families
• Ensuring the approved curriculum and technical standards are delivered consistently
• Working with the Head Coach and WAC office to improve and grow the program
Competitive-swimming coaching experience is welcome but not required. Candidates with experience in swim instruction, aquatic leadership, lifeguarding, teaching, recreation programming, camp leadership or youth-sport coaching are encouraged to apply.
Swimming 101—or a willingness to obtain it within an agreed timeline—is required. Safe Sport training and required screening must also be completed. National Lifeguard, Lifesaving Society instructor certifications and First Aid/CPR are strong assets.
This seasonal, part-time position runs from September through the end of June. Compensation is $30 per hour, with a guaranteed minimum of 15 paid hours per week for approximately 38–40 weeks. Paid time includes program sessions, session and camp planning, staff coordination, Assessment & Placement Week, occasional meetings and end-of-session evaluations.
Please submit a resume and brief cover letter describing your experience working with children, aquatic programs and/or young staff to mikemcwha@windsoraquatic.com.
Applications may be reviewed as they are received.
